EA FC Pro Clubs supports cross-play, but there are important platform limitations around which consoles and PCs can actually play together. Understanding the rules before inviting friends saves you from frustrating failed invites.
Which Platforms Can Play Together?
Cross-play in Pro Clubs is generation-specific, not fully cross-platform. Here's exactly who can play with who:
| Your Platform | Can play with | Cannot play with |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Xbox Series X|S, PC | PS4, Xbox One |
| Xbox Series X|S | PS5, PC | PS4, Xbox One |
| PC | PS5, Xbox Series X|S | PS4, Xbox One |
| PlayStation 4 | Xbox One | PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC |
| Xbox One | PS4 | PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC |
Current-Gen vs Last-Gen: Why They're Separate
EA splits Pro Clubs into two distinct matchmaking pools based on hardware generation:
- common-gen5: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This is the main pool with the most active players and the fullest feature set.
- common-gen4: PS4 and Xbox One. Older hardware, smaller player pool, same core game mode but a separate matchmaking queue.
This separation exists because the current-gen and last-gen versions of EA FC run differently. Mixing the pools would create performance and parity issues, so EA keeps them strictly separate.
How to Enable Cross-Play
Cross-play is turned on by default in EA FC. To verify or toggle it:
- From the main menu, open Settings
- Navigate to Matchmaking Options
- Ensure Cross-Play is set to On
If you turn cross-play off, you'll only match with players on the same platform. This significantly reduces your available matchmaking pool and increases wait times.
Can You Invite Friends Cross-Platform?
Yes - you can invite friends from different platforms within the same generation to join your club. A PS5 player can invite Xbox Series X|S and PC friends to their Clubs squad without any issues.
Importantly, clubs are not locked to the platform they were created on. Any player in the same generation pool can find and join your club through search. This means PS5 clubs appear in search results for Xbox Series X|S players and vice versa.
Common Cross-Play Issues
- Friend can't join your club: Check you're on the same generation. A PS4 friend cannot join a PS5 player's club - there is no workaround for cross-gen play.
- Can't find a friend's club in search: If they're on last-gen and you're on current-gen, their club won't appear in your search results at all.
- Long matchmaking queues: Disabling cross-play significantly reduces your matchmaking pool. Keep it on unless you have a specific reason to restrict it.
Check Your Stats Across All Platforms
Regardless of which platform you play on, PROCLUBS.IO can look up your club's stats. Search by club name to see goals, win rate, Skill Rating, and individual player data. See our guide on how to check your Pro Clubs stats for the full process.
