Your average match rating in EA FC Pro Clubs is one of the most visible stats on your player profile. It reflects how well the game engine rates your overall contribution - not just goals, but positioning, passing accuracy, defensive work, and smart movement. Here's how to push it higher.
What Average Match Rating Measures
The match rating is a 0–10 score assigned by the game's AI after each match. It's calculated based on your in-game actions relative to your position's expected contributions. A striker is judged on shots, goals, and positioning. A CDM is judged on tackles, interceptions, and defensive positioning. A GK is judged on saves and command of the area.
You don't need to score to get a high rating - consistent positional play and passing accuracy can earn you 7.5+ without touching the scoreboard. Your Pro Overall Rating is separate from your match rating - one measures your player build, the other measures your performance.
What Increases Your Rating
- Goals and assists: The biggest single-event boosts. Even one goal in a tight match can push you from 6.8 to 7.5.
- Successful passes and key passes: High pass accuracy and passes that directly lead to shots are rewarded.

Focus on pass completion rate. Don't attempt risky through balls you're unsure about - they register as errors. Simple passes that maintain possession keep your accuracy high. For defensive midfielders, track runners, intercept passing lanes, and make safe tackles rather than reckless ones. Completing more than 80% of your passes is the baseline to maintain a strong midfield rating.
Defender Tips (CB, LB, RB)
Don't over-commit to tackles. Jockeying and winning duels without diving in gives you positive contributions without the risk of a failed tackle hurting your stats. Stay in your defensive zone - a full-back who bombs forward and loses possession is penalised twice: once for the misplaced pass, once for being out of position.

Claim crosses confidently rather than punching when you can catch. Every save counts, and commanding your area wins you aerial duel credits. Distribute quickly - GKs who position themselves well and make command decisions consistently earn better ratings than reactive goalkeepers who rely purely on reflex saves.
