Leveling your pro quickly in EA FC Pro Clubs unlocks more skill points to allocate, pushing your stats and overall rating higher. The max level is 100 with a maximum of 160 skill points available - here's the fastest route to get there.
How XP and Skill Points Work
Every level-up earns you skill points that you allocate to your attributes - things like Finishing, Passing, or Tackling. The higher your level, the more total points you have to build a competitive pro. EA FC 25 made it easier to hit max level compared to previous entries, but without a strategy you'll still feel the grind in the later levels.
XP is earned after every match based on two factors: your base match XP (determined by match type) and a match rating bonus. A higher match rating multiplies your XP reward significantly, so your performance per match matters as much as simply showing up.
XP by Match Type
| Match Type | Base XP (approximate) |
|---|---|
| Clubs League Match | Up to 400 XP |
| Casual Clubs Match | Up to 300 XP |
| Rush Mode Match | Up to 250 XP |
League matches give the most base XP but last 20–25 minutes. Rush matches give slightly less but take only 10 minutes, making them potentially more efficient per hour if you can consistently earn a high match rating.
Why Rush Mode Is Efficient for XP Grinding
Rush is the fastest XP grind for most players. In a 10-minute Rush game, you have far more direct ball involvement than in a 25-minute 11v11 match where you might see limited touches depending on your position. More ball touches mean more opportunities to score, assist, and rack up positive stat contributions that boost your match rating.
A match rating of 8.5+ in Rush can earn comparable XP to a 7.0 in a longer League match - in half the time. See our full Pro Clubs vs Rush Mode comparison for detailed trade-offs.
Skill Games: Don't Skip Them
Weekly XP challenges from Skill Games award up to 4,000 XP if completed. That's equivalent to 10+ matches of base XP in a single sitting. Check the Skill Games menu at the start of each week and knock out the available objectives before they reset. These are easy free XP that most players completely ignore.
Maximise Your Match Rating Bonus
Aim for 7.9 or higher after every match to maximise your XP reward. Practical tips to maintain a high rating:
- Score or assist whenever possible. Even one goal jumps your rating from 6.5 to 7.5+, which compounds your XP earnings significantly.
- Keep pass accuracy high. Don't attempt risky passes you're likely to misplace - misplaced passes directly reduce your rating and your XP.
- Play your position. Being out of position hurts your rating. The game grades you based on positional discipline relative to your listed role.
- Complete defensive actions. For defenders and midfielders, tackles won and interceptions add to your rating every match.
Weekly and Seasonal Objectives
Check your objectives menu at the start of each week. Weekly and seasonal objectives grant bonus XP on top of match earnings. These often require specific in-game actions - score with a header, complete a certain number of passes, win a certain number of tackles. Completing these alongside regular play is essentially free additional levels.
How to Allocate Your Skill Points Wisely
Once you have skill points, spend them on the attributes that matter most for your position first. Don't spread points thin trying to be well-rounded early. An 88-rated pro with perfectly allocated stats will outplay a 90-rated pro with scattered points every time. For an example of focused allocation, see our beginner tips.
