Pinged Pass is a playstyle in EA FC Pro Clubs that improves the accuracy and weight of driven (ping) passes - the low, fast, hard passes triggered by holding the pass button longer. It is most valuable for central midfielders, CDMs, and deep-lying playmakers who distribute the ball over short and medium distances at pace.
What Pinged Pass Does
A pinged or driven pass is a specific passing mechanic in EA FC: holding the pass button longer than a normal pass causes the ball to travel at a much higher pace and stays lower to the ground. These passes are useful for switching play quickly, finding a player between the lines, or delivering the ball into a striker's feet with pace. Without any playstyle, pinged passes are subject to accuracy variance - they can misplace slightly or arrive with inconsistent weight.
Pinged Pass as a playstyle tightens that accuracy and improves the weighting of the pass. The ball arrives with better pace and precision for the recipient. This is particularly useful when playing out from the back, switching the point of attack, or hitting a midfielder who has made a run into space. A poorly weighted ping pass stalls an attack; a well-weighted one with this playstyle sets the tempo and keeps the move alive.
For CDMs and holding midfielders, Pinged Pass is one of the most impactful playstyles available. Much of a CDM's game involves receiving the ball under pressure and distributing it quickly and accurately to teammates. Pinged Pass means those driven balls find their target reliably, even under pressure from pressing opponents.
Pinged Pass+ (Plus Version)
Pinged Pass+ makes driven passes almost perfectly accurate regardless of the situation. Even under a press, receiving the ball and immediately pinging it to a teammate produces a crisp, accurate delivery. The plus version essentially removes the variance from the mechanic entirely, making it one of the most impactful playmaking playstyles in the game for positional players who pass frequently.
Best Positions for Pinged Pass
- CDM: The primary beneficiary. Holding midfielders who distribute from deep rely on accurate driven passes to switch play and break lines quickly.
- CM: Box-to-box midfielders who need to play quickly at pace in tight areas benefit from the improved accuracy on driven passes.
- CB: Centre backs who play out from the back and drive passes into midfielders or switch play benefit, though passing-focused CBs are less common in Pro Clubs.
When to Use Pinged Pass
Pinged Pass activates on driven passes - holding the pass button rather than tapping it. It is most useful in midfield when you need to play quickly, when space is tight, and when the tempo of the game demands fast, accurate distribution. Any time you need to find a player at pace - switching to the other flank, hitting a striker on the move, or playing through a pressing team - Pinged Pass makes that delivery more reliable.
When to Skip Pinged Pass
Forwards and wingers who rarely play the ball to teammates do not benefit from this playstyle. Strikers focused on finishing, headers, or movement off the ball gain nothing. Goalkeepers have limited use for it outside of kick distribution, which is a niche case. If your role is primarily to receive and finish rather than distribute, skip Pinged Pass in favour of an offensive playstyle.
