What Is Skill Rating (SR) in EA FC Pro Clubs?

4 min readUpdated March 4, 2026

Skill Rating - usually shortened to SR - is the number that defines where your club sits in the Pro Clubs hierarchy. Every club starts with a base SR and it moves up or down after each match depending on the result and the quality of the opposition.

How Skill Rating Works

SR uses an Elo-style system. Beat a club with a higher SR than yours and you gain more points. Lose to a club ranked well below you and the drop is steeper. Draws nudge SR slightly based on the gap between the two sides.

The exact formula EA uses isn't public, but the community has mapped out the general behaviour:

  • Win vs higher-rated club: Large SR gain (roughly 15–30 points)
  • Win vs lower-rated club: Smaller SR gain (roughly 5–15 points)
  • Loss vs higher-rated club: Smaller SR loss
  • Loss vs lower-rated club: Larger SR loss
  • Draw: Slight adjustment toward the average of both clubs

What the SR Tiers Mean

There's no official tier list from EA, but the community generally groups clubs like this:

  • Below 1500: Starting range for new clubs
  • 1500–2000: Casual to average competitive level
  • 2000–2500: Above average, consistent winning clubs
  • 2500–3000: Elite level, top-tier clubs
  • 3000+: The best of the best - global leaderboard contenders

How to Improve Your SR

Consistency matters more than individual results. A club that wins 60% of its matches over hundreds of games will climb steadily. Here are practical ways to push SR higher:

  • Play as a team. Communication and positional discipline win more games than individual skill.
  • Avoid rage-quitting. Disconnects count as losses and can carry additional SR penalties.
  • Target win streaks. Consecutive wins compound SR gains.
  • Play during peak hours. Better matchmaking means fairer opponents and more consistent SR movement.
