How to Climb Divisions in EA FC Pro Clubs (2026)

6 min readUpdated March 4, 2026

Climbing divisions in EA FC Pro Clubs requires consistent performance across a full season - not just individual match performances. Understanding how the division system works gives you a real edge over clubs that just grind games without a plan.

How the Division System Works

Pro Clubs uses a league-style promotion and relegation system. You start in Division 10 and work your way up through nine divisions to reach the Elite Division at the top. Each division is a separate tier, and you need to accumulate enough points within a season to earn promotion.

Points are earned simply:

  • Win: 3 points
  • Draw: 1 point
  • Loss: 0 points

You accumulate points to push for promotion. Once you have enough points, you enter the Playoffs - a knockout round that determines if you go up. Fail to earn enough points and you risk relegation.

Promotion and the Playoffs

When you reach the promotion zone in your division, your club enters the Playoffs. The Playoffs are a direct-elimination match that decides whether you move up. Win and you're promoted. Lose and you stay in your current division.

Momentum matters here. A win streak leading into the Playoffs gives you confidence and rhythm. Don't waste the opportunity by starting the Playoffs with a disorganised lineup or missing key squad members.

Avoiding Relegation

EA FC 25 brought back relegation to Pro Clubs. If you lose enough matches and drop below the safety line, you'll enter a Relegation Battle - a single do-or-die game that determines whether you drop a division. Lose it and you go down.

To avoid relegation:

  • Don't skip matches when you're near the bottom of the table.
  • Play your full squad - under-strength lineups cost you in crucial matches.
  • Focus on not conceding rather than attacking. A draw is worth 1 point; a loss is 0.

Elite Division: The Top Tier

Once you reach the Elite Division, relegation disappears. No matter how many matches you lose, you're locked in for the rest of the season. This makes Elite Division a significant milestone - getting there is the hard part, but once you're in, you can experiment freely without consequence.

The Elite Division is also where the best clubs sit on the PROCLUBS.IO leaderboards. Getting there means you're competing at the top level of Pro Clubs matchmaking.

Practical Tips for Climbing Divisions

  • Play together. Clubs that coordinate their human players in a specific formation consistently beat stronger individual players who don't communicate. Check out our formations guide to build a disciplined setup.
  • Target consistent small wins. Beating lower-rated clubs 1-0 and protecting leads is more valuable than going for 5-0 and leaving yourself open on the counter.
  • Don't neglect draws. A draw against a stronger club earns you 1 point and can save you from a bad points week.
  • Play during peak hours. During evenings and weekends, there are more clubs of similar quality searching, which leads to fairer matches and less frustrating losses to mismatched opposition.
  • Win streaks matter. Winning consecutive matches accelerates your points total. String 3-4 wins together and you'll move up the division table fast.

Common Mistakes That Cause Relegation

  • Playing with incomplete squads. AI players filling human spots are weaker - missing two or three teammates is usually a loss waiting to happen.
  • Chasing the game recklessly. Going 1-0 down and abandoning the defensive shape leads to 4-0 losses. Stay disciplined and grind back with structure.
  • Ignoring Skill Rating. SR reflects your true level. If your SR is significantly lower than your current division, you're being found out - focus on fundamentals before climbing higher.
  • Playing tired sessions. Playing 10+ matches when your squad is fatigued leads to sloppy play and unnecessary losses at the worst times.
