Trivela is a playstyle in EA FC Pro Clubs that makes outside-of-foot passes and shots more accurate and adds more curve to them. It allows a winger or forward on the "wrong" side to cut inside and shoot or pass with the outside of their foot reliably, opening up angles that would otherwise require using the weaker foot.
What Trivela Does
Without Trivela, using the outside of your foot to shoot or pass is unreliable - the ball can go anywhere, and the lack of accuracy makes it a desperation option rather than a tactical one. Trivela changes that by giving outside-of-foot contacts the accuracy and curve needed to be a genuine weapon. The ball bends away from the keeper or around a defensive block with a curve that a standard shot from the same position cannot produce.
The primary use case is an inside forward or winger who has cut inside onto their stronger foot but is at an angle where a normal finesse shot would require them to curl back toward the near post. With Trivela, they can instead use the outside of the foot to curl the ball to the far post or drive it across the keeper at an angle that is difficult to save. It adds a second cutting edge to the position that defenders cannot shut down by simply covering one angle.
For passing, Trivela improves driven outside-of-foot deliveries - whether that is a curved through ball with the outside foot or a driven cross. In situations where the inside of the foot cannot reach the pass angle cleanly, a Trivela pass fills the gap and arrives accurately for the recipient. It is a versatile playstyle that adds a layer of unpredictability to your game.
Trivela+ (Plus Version)
Trivela+ makes outside-of-foot strikes as reliable as normal shots. Where the base version improves accuracy significantly, the plus version eliminates almost all variance from outside-of-foot contact. A winger with Trivela+ cutting inside on the "wrong" foot can shoot with the outside of their foot with the same confidence as a normal finesse shot - the ball goes where they aim it with genuine power and curve.
Best Positions for Trivela
- Winger / Inside Forward: The primary beneficiary. A right-footed winger on the left or left-footed winger on the right gains the most from Trivela - it turns their weak-foot side into a genuine shooting threat using the outside of the dominant foot.
- CAM: Attacking midfielders who play at angles where the outside-of-foot shot or pass opens up new possibilities benefit, particularly in combination with other finishing playstyles.
- ST: Strikers who drift wide and find themselves in positions where the outside-of-foot option is the cleanest angle can use Trivela, though it is less impactful here than for wider positions.
When to Use Trivela
Trivela activates on outside-of-foot contacts. It is most effective when you are on the "wrong" side - your dominant foot is on the inside of the run and a standard inside-of-foot shot requires an awkward reach. Instead of switching to your weak foot or taking another touch, you use the outside of your strong foot to shoot or pass. Trivela makes that contact reliable and dangerous. In combination situations where the pass needs to bend around a defender, Trivela also opens up angles that a normal pass cannot cover.
When to Skip Trivela
Defensive positions, goalkeepers, and central players who rarely find themselves in wide cutting-inside scenarios gain little from Trivela. Even some wingers who primarily cross rather than cut inside and shoot may prefer Whipped Pass in this slot. The playstyle is most impactful for players who regularly create the specific situation - cutting inside on the strong foot - where it pays off.
