Best Winger Inside Forward Build EA FC Pro Clubs (2026)

6 min readUpdated March 4, 2026

The inside forward is the most impactful winger role in Pro Clubs. You start wide, beat your fullback, cut inside, and score or create - every time. This build guide covers the best inside forward winger build using the Magician archetype in EA FC Pro Clubs.

Archetype: Magician

Magician is the premier archetype for an inside forward. It unlocks Finesse Shot+ and Technical+ as Playstyle+ slots, which are the two most important playstyles for a winger who cuts inside to shoot. The archetype caps dribbling and pace at elite levels while providing excellent shooting ceiling - the exact combination you need for a high-output LW or RW.

Physical Profile

StatRecommendedWhy
Height5'4"–5'8"Lower height maximises agility and first-step acceleration
Weight132–143 lbsLighter builds are more responsive off the mark

Inside forwards live and die by their agility. A shorter, lighter build gives you faster direction changes that let you beat defenders with skill moves. Going above 5'10" loses the tight-space responsiveness that defines this role.

Best Playstyles for Inside Forward

  • Finesse Shot - The defining playstyle for an inside forward; cutting inside onto your stronger foot and curling into the far corner is the highest-percentage shot you can take from wide
  • Technical - Improves dribbling control when driving at speed; lets you carry the ball into dangerous areas without losing it
  • Rapid - Explosive acceleration to beat the initial challenge; crucial for getting in behind or creating separation
  • Quick Step - Speeds up skill move animations so defenders can't recover after you've beaten them

If your archetype unlocks Finesse Shot+ and Technical+, you have two elite Playstyle+ slots already. Fill your remaining regular playstyle slots with Rapid and Quick Step.

Skill Point Priority

  1. 5-Star Skill Moves - Unlock first; skill moves are your primary method of beating defenders one-on-one
  2. Acceleration + Sprint Speed - Pace is what creates the separation after a skill move; non-negotiable
  3. Dribbling + Agility + Balance - Tight control at pace; max ball control and agility for the full package
  4. Finishing + Curve - The combination that makes finesse shots deadly; both stats contribute to inside forward goals
  5. Long Shots - Adds a second shooting option for when you can't cut all the way inside
  6. Crossing + Short Passing - Final investments; even inside forwards occasionally need to deliver a cross or lay off a pass

How to Play Inside Forward

Start wide in your natural position. As soon as your team wins the ball, make a run in behind or receive wide to feet. Your goal is to use a skill move to get past the fullback, then cut inside onto your strong foot before the covering CB gets across.

The cut-inside-and-shoot is your bread-and-butter move. Finesse Shot into the far corner from the inside of the penalty area is the highest-percentage chance you'll have. Don't overcomplicate it with extra touches.

In a 4-3-3 Attack, you operate as one of two inside forwards flanking the striker. In a 4-2-3-1, you play as the wide AM with more license to drift infield.

Common Mistakes

  • Crossing instead of cutting inside - Your finesse shot is your most dangerous weapon; don't default to crossing
  • Ignoring 5-star skills - Without skill moves, defenders predict your cut-inside and position correctly
  • Going too heavy - Extra weight kills the agility that defines this build
  • Not tracking back - Even inside forwards need to contribute defensively; check your match rating if it's dropping from not tracking back
