Virtual Pro in EA FC Pro Clubs Explained

4 min readUpdated March 4, 2026

Virtual Pro is your custom player character in EA FC Pro Clubs, the avatar you create, develop, and control in every match your club plays, representing you on the pitch alongside your teammates' Pros and AI-controlled players.

How a Virtual Pro Is Created

When you first set up your Pro, you choose a primary position such as striker, central midfielder, or centre-back, then customise their appearance using the in-game editor. You also select an archetype or playstyle that shapes the starting attribute distribution for your Pro. A physical archetype prioritises pace and strength, while a technical archetype leans into passing and dribbling. This initial choice has long-term consequences because it sets the baseline from which your Pro grows through matches and objectives.

Appearance options cover face shape, hair, height, weight, and kit preferences. Height and weight are not purely cosmetic. A taller Pro gains heading advantages but may sacrifice pace. A lighter Pro with lower weight tends to have higher base acceleration. These physical attributes feed directly into the final stats that affect what your Pro can do on the pitch.

How Your Virtual Pro Levels Up

Your Pro earns experience points (XP) by playing matches and completing objectives. Objectives are a structured set of challenges tied to position-specific actions: a striker might need to score 5 goals in a single session, while a defensive midfielder might need to complete 20 tackles. Completing these objectives rewards XP and, critically, skill points.

Skill points are the currency you spend to improve individual attributes. You might spend points to raise your short passing from 72 to 78, or push your shot power higher to improve your finishing from distance. Each attribute costs a set number of skill points, and the higher the attribute already is, the more expensive further increases become. This means early progression feels fast but improving top-end attributes requires a significant match investment.

How Your Pro's Stats Affect In-Game Performance

Unlike appearances in other modes, your Virtual Pro's attributes are not cosmetic. A higher pace attribute means your Pro genuinely outruns defenders in-game. A higher passing attribute increases the accuracy of your through balls and switches of play. A higher defending attribute makes your Pro more effective in duels and interceptions. The difference between a newly created Pro at roughly 65 overall and a fully developed Pro at 90 or above is substantial and visible in actual match outcomes.

AI players that fill positions your human teammates are not covering also have their own ratings, and these are typically lower than a fully developed human Pro. This creates an incentive to fill your squad with as many human players as possible rather than relying on AI to cover gaps.

What Pro Overall Rating Is

Pro Overall Rating is a single number that summarises your Virtual Pro's current attribute levels, weighted by position. A striker's overall rating weights finishing, pace, and shooting heavily. A goalkeeper's overall is weighted toward reflexes, positioning, and handling. This is why the same Pro switched between positions can show different overall ratings. You can read a full breakdown in the Pro Overall Rating guide.

  • Prioritise completing position-specific objectives early because they give the highest skill point rewards and unlock the fastest attribute gains for your chosen role.
  • Do not spread skill points evenly across all attributes. Focus on the 4 or 5 attributes most relevant to your position to maximise your effective overall rating in matches.
  • Check your Pro's development progress on PROCLUBS.IO alongside your club stats to see how your individual growth is contributing to team results over time.
