Goals per game is your average number of goals scored across all matches played in EA FC Pro Clubs. It's calculated by dividing your total goals by total appearances. A player with 45 goals across 90 matches has a goals per game rate of 0.50.
How Goals Per Game Is Calculated
Goals Per Game = Total Goals ÷ Total Appearances
All appearances count - even matches where you played as a substitute, started on the bench, or played out of position. This means a low-appearance run in a different role can drag your average down if you're not contributing.
What Is a Good Goals Per Game Rate?
What's "good" depends entirely on your position:
| Position | Average | Good | Elite |
|---|---|---|---|
| Striker (ST) | 0.4–0.6 | 0.6–0.8 | 1.0+ |
| CAM / Winger | 0.2–0.4 | 0.4–0.6 | 0.7+ |
| CM / CDM | 0.05–0.15 | 0.15–0.25 | 0.3+ |
| CB / GK | 0–0.05 | 0.05–0.1 | Any goal is impressive |
Why Goals Per Game Matters
Total goals can be misleading - a player with 100 goals across 300 games is actually a below-average scorer compared to a player with 50 goals in 60 games. Goals per game normalises for match count, making it the fair comparison metric. It's the stat that shows your true scoring rate regardless of how long you've played.
Tips for Improving Your Goals Per Game
- Improve your finishing positions. Most missed goals come from shooting from poor angles or too far out. Get inside the box to the penalty spot area before shooting.
- Choose finishing technique correctly. See our scoring guide for when to use finesse, power, low driven, or chip shots.
- Make better runs. Starting runs before the ball arrives beats the defensive line and creates higher-quality chances.
- Don't waste chances on long shots. Speculative shots from distance that miss drag your shot accuracy down and don't contribute to goals per game.
