Rush Out Playstyle Guide EA FC Pro Clubs (2026)

4 min readUpdated March 4, 2026

Rush Out is a goalkeeper playstyle in EA FC Pro Clubs that makes your keeper more confident coming off their line in 1v1 situations - quicker to commit to the ball, harder to chip, and more successful at smothering shots before they reach goal. It's most valuable for goalkeepers who play as sweepers, sweeping behind their defensive line to catch through-balls and cut out 1v1 situations before they become shots on goal.

What Rush Out Does

When an attacker breaks in behind the defensive line with only the goalkeeper to beat, the keeper's response time and commitment are critical. A hesitant keeper who stays on their line gives the attacker more time and space to place the ball. A keeper who rushes out decisively reduces the shooting angle, forces a quicker decision, and is better positioned to smother the attempt. Rush Out improves all three aspects of this - the speed of the commitment, the body position when closing down, and the success rate of the smothering attempt.

Beyond pure 1v1 situations, Rush Out also makes the keeper more proactive in meeting through-balls that are played in behind the last defender. A keeper with Rush Out reads those balls earlier and gets there first more often, which removes the 1v1 altogether. This sweeper function is increasingly important in Pro Clubs where defensive lines play high and attackers regularly try to exploit the space in behind.

Rush Out also makes the keeper harder to chip. When you commit to closing down and an attacker tries to lift the ball over you, the improved body position and commitment speed mean you cover the chip angle better. Chips against rushing keepers are a common counter in Pro Clubs, and Rush Out directly reduces their effectiveness.

Rush Out+ (Plus Version)

Rush Out+ makes the keeper a sweeper who wins the ball in almost every 1v1. This is a significant upgrade for goalkeepers who play a high defensive line - the plus version makes your keeper's sweeping range and success rate dominant. Attackers will find it very difficult to exploit through-balls when your keeper is this proactive and this effective at winning the ball outside the box.

Best Positions for Rush Out

  • Goalkeeper (GK): The only position for this playstyle. It's most valuable for keepers whose defensive setup uses a high line, making sweeping behind essential, and for keepers who actively want to be the last line of defence against through-balls rather than staying on their line.

When to Use Rush Out

Rush Out is essential if you're playing behind a high defensive line or if your team defends with high CBs who leave space in behind. It's also the right choice if you regularly face opponents who play direct, over-the-top football and you need to win those footraces. If you find that through-balls are consistently resulting in 1v1 situations that you're losing, Rush Out directly addresses that weakness.

When to Skip Rush Out

If your club defends deep and compactly, the sweeping function of Rush Out is less necessary - attackers aren't breaking in behind regularly enough to justify the slot. In that case, Cross Claimer for aerial situations or Far Reach for shot-stopping are likely better investments. If you rarely come off your line, Rush Out's benefits won't materialise.
