Lengthy is a playstyle in EA FC Pro Clubs that enhances movement specifically for players with the Lengthy body type - their longer stride covers more ground at full pace, making them harder to catch once they build up speed. Critically, Lengthy has no effect whatsoever on players with other body types. Tall, physically imposing players with the Lengthy body type get the biggest benefit, particularly in positions where top-end sustained pace matters.
What Lengthy Does
The Lengthy body type already has a distinct movement characteristic: players cover more ground per stride at top speed compared to Lean or Stocky players. The longer stride means a Lengthy player who is at full sprint is harder to keep pace with over distance, even if their sprint speed stat is the same as a shorter player. Lengthy as a playstyle amplifies this existing body type advantage.
With Lengthy equipped, the ground-covering advantage of the longer stride is more pronounced - a Lengthy player who builds up to full speed creates a separation advantage that compounds over the length of the run. This makes it particularly effective in scenarios involving sustained sprinting: breaking in behind the defence on a through-ball, pressing high for extended periods, or recovering defensive positions across ground.
The critical caveat is that Lengthy requires the Lengthy body type to function. If you have a Lean or Stocky body type, equipping Lengthy does nothing. Before investing in this playstyle, confirm your player's body type in your build setup. It's a common waste of a playstyle slot when players don't check this first.
Lengthy+ (Plus Version)
Lengthy+ maximises the stride advantage at top speed - the ground-covering effect is at its greatest, making a fully sprinting Lengthy player one of the hardest to catch in the game once they have a step on their opponent. For tall strikers or centre-backs with the Lengthy body type who rely on sustained sprint pace, Lengthy+ is the best playstyle for that specific use case. It's niche but extremely effective in the right build.
Best Positions for Lengthy
- Target Striker (Lengthy body type): Making runs in behind and holding them over distance. The Lengthy advantage means defenders with slightly lower pace can't catch you once you're moving. Explore striker builds that use physical archetypes.
- Centre-Back (Lengthy body type): Tracking fast forwards and recovering ground quickly on defensive transitions. Tall defenders with the Lengthy body type and high pace stats become very difficult to beat in straight-line races.
- Wide Midfielder / Winger (Lengthy body type): Sustained sprinting up and down the flank where the stride advantage builds over distance. More effective on wide positions with long runs than in tight spaces.
When to Use Lengthy
Lengthy is effective in any situation involving sustained high-speed running - long balls in behind, wide sprints down the flank, and recovery runs across ground. It works best in direct teams where the Lengthy player is regularly making long runs rather than operating in tight spaces. It also pairs well with Relentless to maintain that stride advantage deep into matches.
When to Skip Lengthy
Skip Lengthy entirely if your body type is not Lengthy - it does nothing for you. Even for Lengthy body-type players, if your game is built around tight spaces and close control rather than sustained runs, Rapid is a better fit since it improves the first-step acceleration that matters more in compact situations. Goalkeepers don't benefit regardless of body type. Technical midfielders who work in tight spaces rather than open ground should look at Technical or Press Proven instead.

Lengthy pairs with Relentless to keep the stride advantage strong into the final minutes, and with Rapid for a complete pace profile covering both explosive start and sustained top speed.
